images/bank.jpgThe Hon. Prime Minister Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini says the rate of economic growth that the country needs is hugely dependent on the development of the small, medium and micro-scale enterprises (SMME) sector.
He says one of that sector’s critical requirements is access to affordable finance which not only talks to a creative and pragmatic approach to bank lending strategy but also to interest rate levels.
The Prime Minister was speaking when he met the Standard Bank Group Chief Executive, Simphiwe Shabalala at the Cabinet Offices in Mbabane on Monday.
The Hon. Prime Minister Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini has hailed the ENACTUS programme for continuing to teach and encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship among tertiary students in the country.
He noted that since 2013, a total of five (5) business have been started by former ENACTUS programme participants with an annual turnover of over E4 million. The Prime Minister was speaking at the finals of the National ENACTUS competition that was won by the University of Swaziland, Kwaluseni campus at the Royal Swazi Sun Convention Centre.
The Hon. Prime Minister Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini has launched a new mobile based government service to be known as the “m-Government service,” accessible through the dial of *468#.
The m-Government service starts with three services provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs to be followed by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade. These services will focus on enabling access to ID and passport application information, including access to visas, work permits, company registration and license renewals.
