The Hon. Prime Minister Dr Sibusiso Dlamini has hailed the formation of the Innovators Association of Swaziland saying the Kingdom aims to be a home of innovation to enhance national development.
He noted that a 2011 study found that only four nations in Africa had created country solutions through innovation. “We want to add Swaziland to that number,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s speech was read on his behalf by the Hon. Minister of Economic Planning and Development Prince Hlangusemphi at the Inaugural Swaziland Innovation Conference held at Esibayeni Lodge.
His Majesty King Mswati III has appointed Bheki Bhembe and Makhosini Mndawe as Principal Secretaries.Bheki Bhembe is the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Finance while Makhosini Mndawe is Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
The Hon. Prime Minister Dr Sibusiso Dlamini says providing a special focus on women who have achieved something special in their positions of responsibility is important to highlight the need for more women to be there in the first place.
He says the Swaziland Businesswoman of the Year is therefore an excellent vehicle with which to achieve this objective. He was speaking at the crowning of the Swaziland Business Woman of the year 2014 Nompumelelo Dlamini at the Royal Swazi Sun Convention Centre.
