HLATIKULU HOSPITAL


Introduction

Hlatikulu Hospital is situated in the Shiselweni region. Hlatikulu is a peri-urban area. The facility serves as a regional hospital. It is a referral centre for three health centers (Sithobela, Matsanjeni and Nhlangano) and nineteen rural clinics.

The hospital has a 210-bed capacity.


Mission Statement

Hlatikulu hospital endeavors to improve the health status of all its clients through the provision of social, promotive preventive, curative and rehabilitative services which are user friendly and accessible to all, using available modern and appropriate technology and skill.


Philosophy

  • We believe that the officer has a professional responsibility congruent with his/her role(s) and that the nurse must be committed to his/her professional growth. The officer is always accountable for his/her actions as he/she functions within the legal and ethical parameters.
  • We believe that personnel should be equipped with the necessary skills, education, experience and motivation in order to perform to the desired level of expectations in the care of clients/patients.

Objectives

  • To influence Central Office through hospital management committee to provide adequate human and material resources.
  • To equip personnel with the necessary skills through inservice education, workshops, seminars and continued education.
  • To encourage all personnel to function within legal and ethical parameters.
  • To mobilize communities through health education and health committees to use available resources for improved health.
  • To establish and maintain a safe and conducive working environment for all health personnel and clients.
  • To improve social status of health personnel and their clients by providing recreational facilities for better performance and well being.


Health Care Team

The hospital is manned by a team of Medical Officers, Anaesthetists, Pharmacist and Dispensers, Radiographers, Laboratory Technologists, Nurses and Biomedical Technicians.



Operating times

Outpatient and Casualty - 24 hours

These departments work interchangeably, Outpatient during daytime and Casualty operates after hours, Public holidays and weekends.


Admissions and discharge office

 Monday - Friday  8:00 am - 4: pm
 Saturday  8:30 am - 12: noon

Closed on Public Holidays and Sundays
