THE SWAZILAND MINISTRY OF TOURISM, ENVIRONMENT AND COMMUNICATIONS
The Ministry of Tourism Environment and Communication's was established through legal notice 104 of 1996 given the mission - To ensure sustainable and equitable development through promotion of sound environmental principles, conservation of our national heritage, and efficient communication infrastructure, conducive to the Swazi and attractive to international visitors and to ensure efficient and effective custody of all recorded information.

To contribute to the improvement and efficient operations of the ministry departments by providing administrative support and facilitating the work of parastatals falling under the ministry
Departments in the ministry are: National Archives, department of Tourism and the department of Environment. The later is awaiting government's approval to resume a parastatals status. Parastatals are: Swaziland National Trust Commission (SNTC), Swaziland Tourism Authority (STA) and the Swaziland Post and Telecommunications (SPTC). The Ministry also monitors the local mobile phone company MTN. The Ministry is working on establishing a policy unit which will enable the Ministry to play it role of communications policy formulation and supervision of its implementation.
An ICT multidisciplinary Task Team, which has recently been established by Government is hosted by the Ministry.
