MINISTRY OF COMMERCE, INDUSTRY AND TRADE

 

MISSION STATEMENT

To contribute to the overall socio-economic development of Swaziland and to the improvement of the standard of living and quality of life of the Swazi people by creating a conducive climate for local and foreign investment, development of industry and trade; promoting harmonious industrial relations, monitoring the efficient utilisation of human resources and ensuring that Swaziland remains an effective global economic player.

Objectives

  • To provide leadership and direction to the Ministry's operations.
  • To ensure that the Ministry operates within the Government's broad policy framework, and guidelines for the sector.
  • To provide effective and efficient human resources management services in the Ministry.
  • To provide effective and efficient transport, office administration, communications and information management services in the ministry.
  • To provide effective and efficient financial management and accounting services to all units and departments in the ministry, in accordance with the financial accounting instructions and stores regulations.
  • To provide effective and efficient technical, financial, management and economic analysis and evaluation of development projects and programmes for the sector.
  • To monitor the financial and physical implementation of projects included in the capital estimates of the ministry, and to liase with the technical departments, other relevant agencies and the central agencies during implementation of the projects and programmes.
  • To evaluate consultants' proposals for studies and bids for project implementation for the ministry, and to participate in contract negotiations.
  • To provide legal advice to all the departments and sections in the ministry.
