MISSION STATEMENT
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy is an equal opportunity organisation, whose mission is to ensure the optimal development, use and management of the country's natural resources (water, minerals, energy, land) in a sustainable manner, with minimal damage to the environment.  Furthermore, it provides efficient services on surveying, mapping, and valuation of the resources for the social and economic development of the Kingdom of Swaziland

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide and maintain facilities for ensuring availability of adequate energy and water.
  • To implement policy to ensure optimal land use
  • To provide survey, mapping and related services for Government
  • To locate, identify and provide proper management of minerals and groundwater resources
  • To promote Swaziland's national interests in natural resources internationally

HEADQUARTERS AND ADMINISTRATION

Objectives

  • To provide leadership and direction for the Ministry's operations
  • To ensure a full complement of well-trained, competent and properly deployed staff, operating in a disciplined and professional environment
  • To ensure that the Ministry is operating within the government's broad policy framework and guidelines for the sectors
  • To ensure that the Ministry has a comprehensive training plan in place
  • To ensure an efficient transport, office administration and a systematic information and communication management system
  • To ensure properly guided planning and development programming for the Ministry
  • To ensure that recommendations of restructuring and related exercises are fully implemented
  • To ensure effective and efficient financial management and accounting services are provided in all units, sections and departments in the Ministry and are in conformity with the Financial Instructions and Stores Regulations
  • To ensure effective and efficient technical, financial, management and economic analysis and evaluation of development projects and programmes for the sectors
  • To monitor the financial and physical implementation of projects in the capital estimates of the Ministry and liaise with the technical departments, other relevant agencies and central agencies during implementation of the projects and programmes
  • To evaluate consultants' proposals for studies and bids for project implementation for the Ministry and to participate in contract negotiations
