E200 000 for 2019 Esibayeni Lodge U-17 League

01 March 2019

Esibayeni Lodge has pumped in E200 000 for the 2019 Esibayeni Lodge U-17 League.

The fourth edition of the League was launched in style at Esibayeni Lodge in Matsapha on Friday morning (01 March 2019) where the Honourable Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries Bulunga was in attendance.

The League, which has already kicked off, will run up until May when the champions will be crowned. Making his remarks during the launch, the Honourable Minister urged clubs to use the platform wisely.

"We have seen a growing number of former products of this very Esibayeni League U-17 League make the climb up to the Premier League where they have starred for some of the very best clubs in the land. Now to our clubs, I urge you to make great use of this beautiful platform offered to you by Esibayeni Lodge. Therefore, I would like to condemn, in the strongest of terms, age cheating and all other practices that will undermine the image of our beautiful sponsor and football in general," Honourable Bulunga said.

Also in attendance during the launch was Director of Sports in the Ministry Lucky Sihlongonyane, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) CEO Frederick Mngomezulu, Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chairman Peter ‘Touch’ Magagula as well as representatives from the 14 Premier League clubs.

Young Buffaloes have won the League three times running.
