Hon. Minister bids Sihlangu farewell

19 March 2019

Sihlangu left Eswatini today for Tunisia where they will face their counterparts from that country in the closing match of the 2019 AFCON qualifiers on Friday night.

Sihlangu departed the country by road just after 2pm for Johannesburg where they will connect a flight that will take them via Dubai before arriving in Tunis tomorrow afternoon. Before departing yesterday afternoon, the Honourable Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries Bulunga bid the team farewell at the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Technical Centre in Lobamba.

Making his remarks, Bulunga urged the team to make the country proud in Tunisia. "We are aware that we stand no chance of qualifying but we want you to know that we still expect a 100% effort from all of you in Tunisia. Remember, you will not be playing for yourselves but you will be wearing national colours and representing Eswatini. Therefore, it is important that you go to Tunisia and fight to protect the dignity of our beautiful country. We know we are going out but let us go out with a bang," the Honourable Minister said.

The farewell function was also attended by P.S in the Ministry Prince Mlayeto, Under Secretary Nhlanhla Motsa as well as Director of Sports Lucky Sihlongonyane. EFA Vice President Comfort Shongwe will lead the delegation.
