The Southern African Development Community( SADC) notes progress on the implementation of the VISA exemptions and commend Member States that have taken initiatives to operationalize bilateral visa exemptions; and, urge Member States that have not concluded bilateral Visa exemption Agreements for SADC citizens to expedite the negotiations and report on progress at the next meeting of the Council of Ministers in August 2019.

It is against this backdrop that the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini duly represented by the Ministries of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation had a discussion with delegates from the Republic of Angola on the 25th October 2018. The Government of the Republic of Angola was duly represented by Joao Antonio da Costa Dias, Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The underpinning of this discussion was the exemption from VISA requirements for holders of Diplomatic Passports between the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini and the Government of the Republic of Angola. The discussions were centered around setting a date when the bilateral agreements would be officially signed into a legal document.

The discussion took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
