ROADS LEAD TO HLANE ROYAL RESIDENCE FOR  BUGANU CEREMONY

The Buganu ceremony which began in the Northern Hhohho Region at Buhleni Royal Residence will this coming weekend proceed to Hlane Royal Residence in the Lubombo Region for second edition of the song and dance festival. The event will begin on Friday 1st of March 2019 with presentation of Emaganu gifts to their Majesties and proceed until Sunday 3rd March 2019.

The Buganu ceremony is known among Emaswati as the celebration of the ‘first fruit’ which comes after the Incwala ceremony. Essentially this is about cleansing and renewal in a new year. Every year Emaswati celebrates their tradition through colourful ceremonies and Buganu ceremony is one of the ceremonies that unite Emaswati through culture, values and traditions. The Emaganu (marula) fruit) is a source of food amongst Emaswati and is regarded as magical healing ingredient used for skin care products because of its massive fertility properties. As part of Her Majesty the Indlovukazi job creation and poverty alleviation initiatives for the Kingdom of Eswatini rural woman, emaganu are used to make beauty products, as a result huge numbers of Emaswati have benefited from this initiative. 

The Minister for Home Affairs Her Royal Highness (HRH) Princess Lindiwe announced on Monday that Lutsango regiment must stick to the dress code. On Saturday they will be required to wear cotton made orange Lihiya and red Lihiya on Sunday respectively. She also caution Lutsango from wearing colorful clothing. Furthermore, their Majesties through Indvuna yeLutsango kaNgwane invited lutsango regiments from Lubombo region to partake in the Buganu celebration.

The clourful jovial songs and dance ceremony will be graced by the presence of His Majesty King Mswati lll, Her Majesty the Indlovukazi’, Royal family, emabutfo regiments and the entire Eswatini nation.  International guests from neigbouring countries and abroad will also partake in the ceremony. Nonetheless Emaswati will have a chance to hear words of wisdom from His Majesty King Mswati III.
