Hon. Minister launches E320 000 MTN Basketball Sponsorship

The Honourable Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries Bulunga today launched a E320 000 sponsorship from Eswatini MTN to the Eswatini National Basketball Association.

The launch, marking the third year of the partnership between the Association and MTN, was held at the company’s Headquarters in Ezulwini. The E320 000 package is a E20 000 increase from last year’s sponsorship and will, amongst other things, cover the Elite Men’s League, National Women’s League, Men’s Promotional League, National High School Championship as well as Wheelchair Basketball.

Making his remarks at the launch, the Honourable Minister thanked MTN for partnering with sport.

“All these interventions by Eswatini MTN are a clear sign to us of the company’s unwavering commitment to playing a leading role in the development of not just the sporting industry but most importantly, the realisation of the country’s 2022 Vision. Sport has a big role to play in the realisation of that Vision. That is why as a Ministry we are working tirelessly towards the professionalisation of the industry because it is then that many EmaSwati will make a decent living out of sport while also contributing back to the economy. Now, for sport to become professional, we need the consistent support of partners and sponsors like Eswatini MTN,” Bulunga said.

Also present during the launch was MTN Chief Marketing Officer Sylvia Oyuo Acheampong , the Director of Sports in the Ministry Lucky Sihlongonyane and Eswatini National Sport and Recreation Council CEO Darius Dlomo amongst others.

 

 

The Prime Minister H.E the Right Hourable  Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini launched the new National Industrial Development of Swaziland (NIDCS).

He calls for total commitment in the wake of the current unbecoming economic situation in the kingdom. He was speaking at the Sibane hotel.

 

 

HRH Princess Tsandzile Minister for Natural Resources and Energy official handed over ten rural water supply micro schemes (HAND PUMPS) from the Thirst Project American NGO .The water the project will benefit Maduma NCP-NHLANHLENI Community under Siphofaneni Inkhundla.

 

 

H.E the Rt. Hon Prime Minister Dr Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini says Swaziland has to build a strong foundation of skills and knowledge that can be harnessed to forge forward towards realizing the aspiration outline in Vision 2022. He was speaking at LIMKOKWING UNIVERSITY HALL OF FAME.

 

 

The Rt. Honourable Prime Minister Dr Sibusiso Barnabas Dlamini says ghost posts and ghost academic certificates are a huge drain to the country's economy and the time to flush them out is now. 

He made the observation when he launched the Public Service Payroll and Skills Audit.
