MINISTER APPOINTS COMMISSION OF INQUIRY

Acting Minister for Public Works and Transport Moses Vilakati, on Thursday 23rd July 2016 announced the Commission of Enquiry to investigate the cause of the accident that occurred at Mpaka Railway on the 17th December 2015. The commission will investigate the accident with effect from 20th June 2016.

The members of the commission are; Wilson Makhalephi Ntshangase (Chairman), Sandile Ceko, Sidumo Mdladla, Hlobsile Dlamini, Vumani Tshabalala, and Richard Nxumalo.

The Minister urged the commission to execute their mandate with utmost diligence and dedication and come up with a comprehensive report within the given time frame. The commission has been given a period of ninety (90) days to conclude their investigation, which will include site inspections, subpoena witnesses they deem to be in possession of information concerning the accident.
