Hon. Minister meets Eswatini’s Ambassador to Qatar

20 May 2019

The Honourable Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs today met Eswatini’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar Felizwe Dlamini.

The meeting, held at the Minister’s offices in Mbabane, was aimed at sharing ideas on possible areas of coordination between the Ministry and Qatar through the Kingdom’s Embassy in that country. Making his remarks during the brief meeting, Dlamini said there was a lot the country could benefit by developing its young people.

“I am on leave and I have decided to pay courtesy calls to the new Government for us to discuss various issues and opportunities. As a country I believe that we are capable of doing a lot for our young people who are our future. This Ministry is key to that development because we can do it through developing our sport, for example, which is also a portfolio under this Ministry. We see it in many countries how sport has boosted economies so we need to tap onto that potential as well. We need to take sport as a business,” Dlamini said.

Making his own remarks, the Honourable Minister thanked Dlamini for making time to see the Ministry and promised that they would work closely with the Embassy in finding opportunities of collaboration between the two countries, particularly in terms of youth development.

“We appreciate your visit and we promise that we will get to work right away with my team in trying to find ways on how we can exploit available opportunities,” Bulunga said.

Also present during the meeting were the Principal Secretary in the Ministry Prince Mlayeto, Under Secretary Nhlanhla Motsa and Director of Youth Affairs Bheki Thwala
