Health Standards Launch
The Ministry of Health offcially launched and disseminated the Health Standards and Quality Assaurance Strategic Plan document. This event took place at the Happy Valley Resort and was graced by the presence of the Hon. Minister of Health, Benedict Xaba, WHO Country Director-Dr Owen Kaluwa, SWASA Director- Dr Lomkhosi Mkhonta and other very important partners and health workers.
Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy Launch
The Ministry of Health launched the National Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy at the Happy Valley Resort, Ezulwini. The ministry's development partners who were very instrumental in leading the process of completing and disseminating this policy are UNFPA, WHO, EU and UNAIDS.
Health Research Training Program Launch
The Ministry of Health launched the Health Research Training Program (HRTP), a project led by ICAP, a leader in Global Health. The research training aims at equiping public health profesions in The Kingdom of Swaziland and guiding health policy and public health programs in Swaziland through research.

World No Tobacco Day 2013
The Ministry of Health commemorated the World No Tobacco Day at Ezulwini on the 4th July 2013. The event was well attended by health officials, WHO officials, Ezulwini Municipality and SADAT membersÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ and students from the different High Schools in Ezulwini.

The 7th Stop Cervical Cancer in Africa Conference
The Kingdom of Swaziland will join other African States during the 7th Stop Cervical Cancer In Africa Conference, to be held in the Republic of Mozambique from the 21st - 23rd July at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Centre, Maputo.
The Kingdom of Swaziland is well represented in this prestigious forum by Her Royal Highness Inkhosikati Make LaMatsebula, who is also the Vice-Chairperson of the Forum of African First Ladies Against Breast and Cervical Cancer.

Cervical Cancer Training by a Team of Experts from the Women's Cancer Control Centre in Zambia,
The Ministry of Health, through the leadership, facilitation and support of the Vice-Chairperson of the Forum for First Ladies against Breast and Cervical Cancer; Her Royal Highness Make Inkhosikati LaMatsebula, hosted a technical mission from the African Centre of Excellence for Women's Cancer Control: Center for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) from the 17th - 20th June 2013.
The objective of the mission was to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health for the strengthening of the National Cervical Cancer response.
The Visiting Team comprised of Professor Groesbeck Parham: Co-Director and Dr Sharon Katai Kapambwe: Program Head at the African Centre of Excellence for Women's Cancer Control: Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ).
Their activities in the country included meeting with the Vice-Chairperson of the Forum for African First Ladies against Breast and Cervical Cancer: Inkhosikati Make LaMatsebula, conducting a workshop for health care workers and field visits to the facilities providing cervical cancer screening services.
Expected outcome from this mission is a defined partnership and collaboration between the CIRDZ and the Ministry of Health in Kingdom of Swaziland.

United States Government donates to the Ministry of Health and Umbutfo Defense Force
The Ministry of Health together with Umbutfo Defense Force received a donation estimated worth of E3.6 million from the United States Government - Pepfar. The handover event was held at Phocweni Army Barracks.
The presentation was done by the US Ambassador to the Kingdom, Makila James, who was represented by the Chiet of Mission, Craig Cloud.
To the Ministry of Health, two vehicles, public address system and other items were donated. Receiving the donation on behalf of the Minister of Health, who is attending the Annual World Health Assembly in Geneva, was Dr Vusi Magagula- Deputy Director of Health Services(Clinical). These huge donation will be utilised under the Male Circumcision Initiative. (22nd May 2013
