THE MINISTRY OF TINKHUNDLA ADMINISTRATION AND DEVELOPMENT HAS OUTSHINED ALL GOVERNMENT MINISTRIES AND AWARDED THE FIRST PRIZE OF EXCELLENCE IN THE SWAZILAND INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR 2015.

His Excellency The Right Honourable Prime Minister Dr. Banarbas Dlamini awarded the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development the grand Prize during the closing ceremony of the Swaziland International Trade Fair held at Mavuso International Trade Centre recently.

The Award was received by Director of Decentralisation in the Ministry, Thulani Mkhaliphi.

During his official closing statement, the Prime Minister pointed out that the quality of exhibition stands were excellent.

“The amount of information made available to the visitors at every stand has been so beautifully presented and so informative,” he said. The Prime Minister further observed that exhibitors spared no effort and displayed their goods and services with pride and proficiency.

The Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development attracted crowds of visitors, including students from primary  to tertiary level, who came to learn about the significance of Imiphakatsi (Traditional Households) in communities and their roles as entry points to collective development. Throngs of international visitors were interested in learning about the Political structure of the Kingdom of Swaziland and the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development efficiently provided such information.

The stand also covered best Projects funded by the Regional Development Fund, popularly known as RDF from the four regions of the country. The fund attracted many Swazis who were interested in joining efforts in their respective communities and starting income generating projects as well as infrastructural development projects.

The Ministry also showcased Appropriate Technology (AT) devices including water tanks, energy saving stoves, sinks and tiles. The Ministry is currently having an ongoing programme in communities to impart these skills to every individual Swazi including the Youth for improved water harvesting and sanitation in communities and also increased employment opportunities.

Lastly, the Stand had an eCommunity centre which was a reflection of a joint government effort to bring eServices in communities. This initiative will see all Swazis being in a position to access offline Government Services at their nearest Tinkhundla, Service Centres, schools and Libraries.
