The Minister of Information, Communications and Technology, Senator Winnie K Magagula, has vowed that Government will not allow the Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) to die. This was during the Minister’s tour of departments and parastatals under her portfolio on February 2, 2012.

Making her remarks at the event, the Minister reminded Management that SPTC was a creature of statute and had a mandate to carry out regardless of whether it had money to carry it out or not. She said no country can develop without technology and she was grateful that SPTC was still able to carry out its mandate, despite its challenges. “Swaziland has entrusted SPTC to carry it forward in the ICT age,” the Minister noted. The Minister also commended SPTC for being a good corporate citizen through its sponsorship of soccer. The Minister’s delegation also toured the Call Centre, the Post Office and the Satellite Earth Station at Ezulwini.
