On March 15, 2012, Minister of Information, Communications and Technology (ICT), Senator Winnie K. Magagula, is expected to be the guest speaker at the launch of the Nkamanzi (Manzini region) community-based information centre, which is the first of its kind to be established by the National Emergency Response Council on HIV/AIDS (NERCHA).

This is part of NERCHA’s nation-wide programme aimed at influencing social behaviour change through the timely provision of accurate HIV and AIDS information to ensure an AIDS-free Swaziland. The one-stop shop which will be run by community members, is also expected to narrow the information gap between the Kingdom’s urban and rural populations. It will also provide other health-related and developmental information in the community. Minister Magagula is currently on an official visit to India. Upon her return, she is expected to be in the company of representatives of the US Embassy, K4Health, PEPFAR Swaziland, SAfAIDS, and NERCHA, and other invited NGOs at the launch. The establishment of the community information centre has been supported by Knowledge for Health (K4Health) under the John Hopkins University. The event will commence at 10am.
