Services

• Licensing and regulating the gaming sector
• Formulation and monitoring the implementation of tourism policies

Licensing Procedure

• Lodge application through the Gaming Board Secretariat in the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, citing the relevant license required i.e casino or lotteries.
• No application fee is required.
• Licence holder expected to renew licence every 10 years.

FORESTRY DEPARTMENT SERVICES :

Herbarium activities/services :

 •Collect , sort , identify , dry, label , store and document on the ecological location ,uses and status of different collected plant species specimen

•Provide scientific service to the public

•Issuing permits for collecting and movement of plant germplasm

 •Exchange plant specimens with regional and international scientists and institutions

Issue Permits:

Permits are issued to communities, stakeholders and members of the public for accessing , harvesting, processing and movement of forest resources.Applicants submit a letter of request to the Ministry responsible for forestry which in turn issues a permit for the request having been furnished with particulars and details of  the activity to be carried out.

Transfer of forestry technical expertise:

Information and technology to communities and stakeholders on sustainable forest management ,conservation ,utilization and development of forest resources.The entity requesting the  service sends an application letter to the Ministry / department.

Tree seed and growing of seedlings:

Tree seeds and seedlings of indigenous and exotic species are procured ,produced and distributed. Individuals, groups and institutions make request for tree seed and seedlings which are either provided at no fee or sold •Seedlings are sold at nurseries at the RDA’s  (Ludzeludze, Luve ,Mahlangatsa,  Malkens ,Ntfonjeni ,Southern RDA  )

How to access the above services:

Contact the nearest Forestry Extension Officer stationed at the RDA /nurseries  and apply in writing to the Ministry  and the service is provided at no fee.

Sustainable management of forest resources:

Apply and introduce sustainable forest management practices to improve the management, conservation and utilization of natural forests and woodlands ,community forests and woodlots, urban forests and agro-forestry  resources,prevent ,control and manage pests ,diseases ,fires and invasive alien plant species

Forest research :

Research on  germination, propagation, tending, management ,conservation, processing  and utilization practices  of  trees and forests •    Research on conservation of land, soil, water, forest degradation, ecosystem management and climate change.

 METEOROLOGY DEPARTMENT  SERVICES:

Specialized weather forecasts

• To game parks, forest companies, railway company, towns and cities,Aviation entity, Television, radio and newspapers

         This service is currently free and is rendered through email, fax, www.swazimet.gov.sz

Agro Meteorological bulletins

• These show current weather situation in terms of crops
• These bulletins are disseminated through the internet.
• Costs E100 per monthly bulletin
• Bulletins for a period of twelve months cost E1 000

These are issued through the Ministry of Agriculture

• Receive daily weather forecast via an SMS or  fax
• Costs:  E50 / month or E600 for the whole year
