His Majesty King Mswati III visited Pavilion 5 on the Opening Ceremony of the Swaziland International Trade Fair on Saturday, September 1, 2012. The King visited the exhibitors’ stands including the Swaziland Broadcasting and Information Services (SBIS), Royal Science and Technology Park (RSTP) and Swaziland National Archives (SNA). He also visited the Ministry of Education’s ICT Inspectorate stand, which is manned by students from Manzini Central High School, as well as exhibitors from Limkokwing University.

Deputy Prime Minister, Themba Masuku accompanied His Majesty, who was received by ICT Minister Winnie Magagula. Exhibitors of Pavilion 5 expressed their excitement at the opportunity to meet the King and explain their products and services to him. “We were thrilled to have His Majesty visit our stand. He even mentioned that he was looking forward to the completion of our new building,” said Swazi TV’s Assistant Marketing Officer Nombuyiselo Kunene. Manzini Central High School’s Form Five pupil Daisy Dlamini said she was pleased to see the King at such close proximity. She also said she was happy to get the chance to educate her peers about ICT. “I tell them about how a computer is no longer a luxury, but a need. Even the disabled do not have to travel long distances to get access to information,” she said. Makhosazana Dlamini from the Swaziland National Archives said she was pleased that the Minister of ICT explained the Swaziland National Archives’ role to the King in a clear and concise manner. “We were honored that His Majesty took his time to learn about our institution,” she said.
