The Kingdom of Swaziland/State of Qatar sign labour recruitment agreement
Following Cabinet approval, the Government of the Kingdom of Swaziland and that of the State of Qatar have signed a Bilateral agreement on the Regulation of Swazi Manpower Employment in the State of Qatar. The signing ceremony was held in Doha on Sunday May 20, 2012.
The Swaziland Government was represented by the Minister of Labour and Social Security Hon. Lutfo Dlamini while the State of Qatar was represented by the Minister for Social Affairs who is also the Acting Minister for Labour His Excellency Nassir Bin Abdulla Al-Humidi. The Ambassador to the State of Qatar Mr. Felizwe Dlamini was also present to witness the ceremony.
The purpose of the Bilateral Agreement is to avail employment opportunities to Swazis from all sectors of society with specialized qualifications and skills. It is also to review job opportunities available in the State of Qatar and further give opportunities to Swazi companies involved in the recruitment industry.
The bilateral agreement shall ensure that the basic employment conditions of service shall be met, inclusive of the international standards of safety and labour law, such as the provisions by the employer of return air tickets, paid leave, health insurance, amongst others.
This agreement will now officially give accredited Swazi based recruitment agencies the opportunity to facilitate the employment of Swazis in Qatar, working hand in hand with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
