FESTIVE SEASON MESSAGE– HON. JABULANI  C.  MABUZA

On behalf of the Swaziland Government and the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, I would like to convey this festive season message to the entire Swazi nation and to our visiting guests.

It is that time of the year where most people travel to different places for a well-deserved holiday after a busy and hectic long year. This is the time when families ease off from their daily grind and hectic schedules to reflect and to be together for differently motivated festivities and to have some quality time and enjoy all that the destination offer.

The ministry`s role as a destination management organization makes us very expectant during this time of the year. We anticipate with heightened interest that the country will experience an increased inflow of visitors as a result of the work that we put day in day out in our efforts to make this beautiful Kingdom a top of mind destination for would be visitors from all walks of life.

Collectively we strive to deliver a safe and crime free tourism experience to our visitors and we wonder about our capacities for being good hosts and whether we can in unison treat our guests to extraordinary holiday choices in a clean and welcoming environment.

Our basis of this sense of anxiety is our desire to deliver an unforgettable holiday experiences to all our visitors. It is against such nagging thoughts that I take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all our guests who have chosen to spend their holiday period in Swaziland.

As mentioned, visitors are here to have a great holiday; we thus implore all Swazis to ensure that they have a wonderful and enjoyable experience of the country. Each one of us has a role of delivering holiday experiences to our visitors that will turn them into ambassadors of the Kingdom of Swaziland when they each go back to their countries of origin.

I take this opportunity to also urge our fellow Swazis to take time to visit our country sites and enjoy the scenery and diversity that the country has to offer.

I also encourage our frontline personnel from all the ports of entry, from the 15 border gates that lead into our beautiful Kingdom, to the newly opened King Mswati III International airport which enables sheer air access into our pearl of a country, from receptionists in our beautiful hotels, guest houses and B&Bs to petrol attendants in our plentiful fuel stations: please, please, please, continue to be our true representatives as you welcome our visitors into the country. Be patient with them, show them the way. Extend to them a truly royal experience as that provides the first impression to our guests which tends to set the tone for what they will find inside the country.

Let me also hasten to extend the same encouragement to other stakeholders, in particular the police that they should continue being visible and ensure that our visitors are safe. We cannot afford to slip on that trait as it is our unique marketing strategy. Let us all assist the Royal Swaziland Police as they ensure that we are all safe this festive season by avoiding activities that will disturb  us from enjoying the forth coming  holidays.

To our guests, I say to you, welcome to our land and thank you very much for choosing the Kingdom of Swaziland to be your holiday home this festive. You have made the right choice.

One of our important cultural celebrations, Incwala, has already begun. This event is one of our important events in the country not only for tourism but for us as Swazis. This is a period when all Swazis come together to celebrate end of the year with their Majesties. In the past years we have seen a number of tourists taking part in this event from the little Incwala leading to the main day to be announced by Authorities. I urge all of us to take time and join the Swazi nation as we celebrate this event.

To our guests from other countries who will be on mobile phone roaming, a pleasant experience awaits them. They will be receiving informative messages that not only welcome them into our country, but gives them important information about who to call for any emergencies, whether it be hospitals or police service. This is our best effort to make your stay in the country as enjoyable and as stress free as possible. This is what holiday making is about.

Take only photographs leave only footprints and take only the best memories about our country and have a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.

MAY GOD BLESS US ALL.
