The Hon. Prime Minister Dr Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini says Swaziland is committed to the ideals of the Pan African Parliament.

He was speaking at a meeting with the Pan African Parliament president, Hon. Rodger Nkondo Dang at the Cabinet offices in Mbabane.

The Prime Minister noted that Swaziland is an active participant in the deliberations of the Pan African Parliament and also a founding member. He expressed his delight that some members of the Swazi Parliament have been elected into committees of the Pan African Parliament like Senator Mike Temple who is vice chairperson of the Finance Committee.

Hon. Dang invited His Majesty King Mswati III to address the Pan African Parliament this year, saying he is an enlightened leader who could benefit the Parliament looking at the level of development attained by the Kingdom. He advised the country to ratify the Pan African Parliament protocol ammended in Malabo, Equitorial Guinea which gives legislative powers to the continental Parliament.

The Prime Minister, Dr Dlamini thanked Hon. Dang for inviting His Majesty to address the Pan African Parliament saying this is an honour to the King, Queen Mother and the Swazi Nation. He promised that the Pan African Parliament protocol will be taken to the Swazi Parliament for review and to get the authority to ratify.
