His Majesty King Mswati 111 has officially opened the MDR-TB unit worth E 15 million at the Nhlangano Health Centre. The MDR TB unit was constructed by Medecin Sans Frontier's (MSF), who is a major partner in the fight against TB, TB/HIV and MDR.TB in the country.

The unit is part of the efforts by His Majesty’s Government to decentralize TB services and bring them closer to the people.

The state of the art MDR –TB unit boasts of 30 beds, an outpatient department and laboratory equipment with the latest high technology diagnostic tests. i.e Gene X-pert which detects TB within 2 hours.

The TB unit will go a long way in strengthening the TB Programmes efforts to curb the spread of the disease. His Majesty appealed to the nation to use the facility, seek help early so that they can be treated in the initial stages of the disease to avoid complications and further spread of the disease.
