The Minister of Information, Communications and Technology, Senator Winnie Magagula, welcomed officials from Angelique International Limited to Swaziland during a tour of the site at Phocweni where the Information Technology (IT) Park will be constructed. Angelique International Limited is a company based in India, which has won the tender to implement the project. Senior Vice President of the company, Rakesh Ahuja and company representative Sunil Katam travelled from India to view the piece of land that has been allocated to the project. The Minister explained that work would be done in phases. “Phase one entails the IT Centre, which involves the construction of offices and e-government facilities,” Minister Magagula explained. She officially handed over the geo-technical survey report to Mr. Ahuja.

The Senior Vice President said Angelique International Limited was grateful for the opportunity to serve the Kingdom of Swaziland through the construction of the IT Centre. “India is a leader in IT and we look forward to the transfer of skills that will result from this project,” he said. The Ministry’s Principal Secretary Nathaniel Mahluza, the Undersecretary, Bhekithemba Gama, Project Manager Moses Zungu and his assistant Zinhle Sikauke, also attended. The project will be funded through a loan from Exim-Import (ExIm) Bank of India.
